In particular, the department focuses on pediatric patients requiring endoscopy, inflammatory bowel diseases (such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), allergic gastritis, chronic liver diseases, and rare conditions like Wilson’s disease, glycogen storage diseases, and post-liver transplant care.

Pediatric Endoscopy and Diagnostic Services: Leading pediatric endoscopy since 1996, the department offers safe, precise diagnosis and treatment with state-of-the-art equipment.

• Performs all types of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including for newborns

• Real-time endoscopy and ultrasound available in the operating room and intensive care unit

• Multidisciplinary care in collaboration with pediatric radiology and pathology departments

Management of Rare and Intractable Diseases:

• Early diagnosis and management of genetic metabolic disorders and rare diseases in collaboration with Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital

• Managing and researching ultra-rare diseases, including the world’s first reported cases

Pediatric Liver Transplantation: Successfully performed the region’s first pediatric liver transplant in 1998, and the department continues to offer liver transplant services based on outstanding outcomes led by Professors Han Young-seok and Cheon Jae-min.
