The Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Department at Kyungpook National University Children’s Hospital specializes in diagnosing and managing a wide range of digestive diseases and nutritional issues in children and adolescents. The department handles conditions such as chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, gastrointestinal bleeding, hepatitis, jaundice, growth failure, obesity, and more. In particular, the department focuses on pediatric patients requiring endoscopy, inflammatory bowel diseases (such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), allergic gastritis, chronic liver diseases, and rare conditions like Wilson’s disease, glycogen storage diseases, and post-liver transplant care.

• Management of Rare and Intractable Diseases:

• Early diagnosis and management of genetic metabolic disorders and rare diseases in collaboration with Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital

• Managing and researching ultra-rare diseases, including the world’s first reported cases

• Pediatric Liver Transplantation: Successfully performed the region’s first pediatric liver transplant in 1998, and the department continues to offer liver transplant services based on outstanding outcomes led by Professors Han Young-seok and Cheon Jae-min.
