Introduction
The NICU opened in February 2014 and is currently operating with 31 beds, providing state-of-the-art facilities and the best possible environment for neonatal care. Services include ventilator care (including high-frequency ventilation and NO gas supply), treatment of severe respiratory illness, pulmonary arterial hypertension, nursery care for extremely low birth weight babies, and hypothermia treatment to prevent ischemic brain injury in newborns.
The NICU is directly connected to the labor and delivery room, which allows for adequate prenatal preparation as well as effective and rapid treatment immediately after delivery, and is a leading center for the treatment of premature and high-risk newborns, including surgery for patent ductus arteriosus, surgical repair, and retinopathy of prematurity in collaboration with other departments.
